Michael Bell bio
As a youngster, Michael realized his passion for everything “ART”. That passion manifested itself in his drawing and painting on any and everything in his parent’s home. When he was twelve, his parents sought to channel that zeal by enrolling him under the tutelage of renowned Hampton Roads (VA) artist, teacher and author, Jack W. Clifton. Thus began Michael’s formal journey/fellowship of art.
After grade school, his ardor grew and his talent won him awards and name recognition in the local art community. As a result, he was accepted to the art magnet program at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center in Newport News, Virginia; thus enriching development of his skills in various forms of the arts. In 1985, Michael graduated the Art Institute of Atlanta (GA), with a degree in visual communications. His training there proved invaluable in the work force and freelance career.
In addition to Michael’s passion for art, is his commitment to mentoring and supporting youth activities and being involved in volunteer community service, which included participating on various committees and boards. Perhaps the most significant of these was twenty years of volunteer work to Hampton Bay Days in Hampton, Virginia. This event is a festival that celebrates and promotes stewardship of conservation for the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. Michael’s participation served to heighten his own environmental awareness.
His Artistic Passions blended with Community Service has led him to experience “serenity of self-realization” through lessons of life.
